Location: Kelowna, B.C., Canada

Moved to Kelowna from Vancouver in 1970. Worked at Western Star Trucks for 26 years before they did me a favour. Now I'm having a ball, live alone, have two great married sons and daughter in laws a beautiful grandaughter Isabella and a new grandson Diego who all live close by. Update......no longer living alone. I've met a beautiful lady who has everything except good taste in men!

Nov. 10th 8 am.... Went out in the kayak as the mist had just disappeared from over the bay and not a breath of wind. Took the camera this time. Inside of five minutes I was out of the bay and heard a "whoosh" behind me and there they were. About 5 dophins checking me out! I'd put the camera in a ziplock bag and by the time I got it out they'd decided they didn't like my company. Too bad. Next time I'll be ready.
Paddled over to the mangrove island/bird sanctuary and got a few pics of the Brown Pelicans and a Roseate Spoonbill. Unfortunatelly the color doesn't show up that well in the pics.
Going around the end of the island I came to the derelict sailboat that I saw on my earlier outing only this time due to high tide I was able to get closer to it. Probably got tossed up last year in the hurricane. I'd have gone on board but it's in the bird sanctuary and didn't want to tick off the locals.

Roseate Spoonbill in flight. I guess the noise from my shotgun scared it.
and in the rookery
Brown Pelicans in the rookery. They have white heads in the winter and yellow heads in the summer. They are on the endangered list
