Moved to Kelowna from Vancouver in 1970. Worked at Western Star Trucks for 26 years before they did me a favour. Now I'm having a ball, live alone, have two great married sons and daughter in laws a beautiful grandaughter Isabella and a new grandson Diego who all live close by. Update......no longer living alone. I've met a beautiful lady who has everything except good taste in men!

Two of the inhabitants of Egmont Key

A Southeastern Pocket Gopher tortoise. Egmont is home to one of the largest colonies of Gopher tortoises in the world and although not on the endangered list they are considered "one of the species that need to be watched". They dig burrows in the sand. Notice the paddle like feet that are used to dig the holes. These burrows are also used by indigosnakes (endangered),rattlesnakes and blacksnakes. They are a declining population partially due to a dwindling habitat
